Gregory Salome

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Greg Salome on November 2nd, 2023, at the age of 76. 

 

Born in Campbellton, NB, raised and firmly rooted in Miramichi, NB, Greg was the son of the late Joe and Doris (Chamberlain) Salome.

 

Greg was a successful entrepreneur and owned several businesses throughout his younger years. He spent the latter part of his career in Sales, and with his humour and charisma, he could almost sell sand in the desert. 

 

In his retirement, Greg was a news, sports, and political enthusiast, always a great storyteller and card shark. Even though he never had much of a card partner in Gerri (his joke), he could still beat the pants off you and send you home penniless. 

 

Greg was a loving husband, great Dad, and caring friend and brother. He had a kind, warm-hearted nature and a true knack for finding the humour in everything. He always knew how to have fun and was forever a practical joker, much to the chagrin of his group of life-long buddies. The room was always full of laughter when Greg was around. 

 

Greg will be sadly missed by his devoted wife of 36 years, Gerri and his loving daughter, Erin; Sons-in-law Greg Hickox and Jamie Payne; Mother to Erin, Judy Salome;  Sisters Jan Salome, Paula Matthews (Rick), and Emily Quinn (Wayne); Brothers-in-law Paul Durelle (Virgine) and Jacques Durelle (Anita);  as well as several nieces, nephews, great friends and his loyal, furry companion, Daisy.

 

In keeping with Greg's wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral service. A celebration of life for family and friends to be announced at a later date.

 

Donations in memory of Greg can be made to the Kidney Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick.
