Glenna Faye Murchie

March 30, 1940 — March 31, 2023

Glenna Faye (MacDonald) Murchie, of Miramichi, passed away peacefully at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Friday, March 31, 2023, the day after her 83rd birthday.

Born in Sillikers, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Jenny (Matchett) MacDonald. She worked as a head cashier at a grocery store and a pharmacy, and spent time as a sitter prior to her retirement.

She was a wonderful homemaker, wife, sister, grandmother, and friend, and being a mother to her son Troy was a great source of pride for her.
She leaves behind a legacy of gratitude and resilience and a love to all she met. Her home was always open and welcoming to visitors and friends, who were greeted with a cup of tea. She loved a good game of cribbage and was a real card shark. Many hours of fun were spent playing cribbage with John, Bob and Paula.
Glenna Faye's laughter was contagious, and her loving kindness and humbleness will be her legacy to us.

She will be greatly missed by her son Troy Murchie (Sharon) of Dawson Creek, BC; two sisters Jean Walker (Vincent) of Cape Breton and Paula Kingston (Late Herbie) of Newcastle; two brothers Art MacDonald (Markedah) of Sunny Corner and Bob MacDonald (Mary) of Losier Hall; three granddaughters Sara Jane, Shaylie, and Sierra; grandson Tiberius "Ti"; great grandchildren Amelia, Alexander, Emberlyn, Greyson, Kayson and Leland; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband John Murchie; brother James MacDonald; and sister Shirley MacInnis.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place at Northumberland Crematorium and there will be no visitation or funeral service.  A graveside burial will take place in Boom Road Presbyterian Cemetery, on Friday, September 1, 2023, at 3 pm.

The family would like to thank the staff of 2W and 4E for the excellent care Glenna Faye received during her stay in hospital. Thanks is also extended to Dr. Gerard Losier, her two special nieces Lori and Stacey, and her nephew Donald.
A special thanks to close friends Ann, Jake, Cody, Marg, Mona, Tom and Pauline.

As expressions of sympathy in Glenna Faye's memory, donations to the Boom Road Presbyterian Cemetery would be appreciated.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of Northumberland Funeral Home & Crematorium, 102 Pleasant St, telephone (506) 622-7741. Where your loved one never leaves our care.
