Gerard Alphonsus Keenan, of Keenans, passed away peacefully at Percy's Place, surrounded by his family, on Friday, March 29, 2024, at the age of 80.
Born in Howards, he was the son of the late Peter and Yvonne (Colford) Keenan. Prior to retirement, he worked as a woods worker and a truck driver, and was a member of St Raphael's Roman Catholic Church.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Margaret (Duffy) Keenan of Keenans; three sons Rodney (Helen) of Blackville, Christopher (Tina) of Ontario, and Jason (Jennifer) of Barnettville; two sisters Bernice Colford (Norman) of Nelson, and Joanne Munn (Junior); six brothers Johnny (Debbie), Donnie (Kathy), Jimmy (Jolene), Ricky (Terry) all of Keenans, Leonard (Kim) of Blackville, and Allie (Helen) of Miramichi; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Helena "Lena" and brother Henry.
Visitation will take place at St Raphael's Roman Catholic Church Hall, on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Raphael's Roman Catholic Church, in Blackville, on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 11 am, with Father Paul Doucet officiating.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to a memorial of one's choice.
