Gary Thomas Manderville of Renous passed away peacefully at Vondy House on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the age of 64.
Born in Newcastle, he was the youngest child of the late John and Doris (Donovan) Manderville. Although he worked in construction, Gary will be remembered as the local wreath man of Renous, having spent many years making wreaths, or "tipping," a craft he truly loved. He cherished time spent in the woods, especially searching for and gathering white birch, white pine, and red dogwood. He also enjoyed playing cards, playing his guitar, watching sports, and sharing time with family and friends. His happiest moments, however, were those spent with his grandchildren, who held a special place in his heart.
He will be greatly missed by his partner Kathy O'Brien; his three sons, Curtis (Janel) of Penniac, NB, Scotty (Kelsey) of Quarryville, NB, and Chad (Darren Hatto) of Saint John, NB; his sister, Ann Dawson (Stephen) of Renous; his four brothers, David of Renous, Burt (Mary Jane) of Renous, Johnny (Lily) all of Renous, and Ricky (Margaret Anne) of White Rapids; sister-in-law, Debbie Manderville of Renous; his four grandchildren, Ivy, Hudson, Glen, and Garrett; several nieces and nephews; his chosen sons; and his loyal companion, his dog, Haggard.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Carmen (Late Rita), Duncan (Late Addavilla), and Bernard; and his sisters, Doris Close (Late Isaac) and Bernice Gillespie.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the visitation on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Northumberland Funeral Home, from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 11 am, from St Bridget's Roman Catholic Church, with Father Paul Doucet officiating.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Vondy House or to a memorial of one's choice. https://www.hospicemiramichi.com/donate.html
