Frederick "Fred" Lavoie, of Residence la Belle Vie in Baie-Sainte-Anne, and formerly of Miramichi, passed away peacefully at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the age of 76.
Born at home in Red Bank, he was the son of the late George and Millie Lavoie. Fred worked as a mechanic and bodyman prior to his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and having a few cold ones.
He will be greatly missed by his children, Teena Arseneault (Rick) of Salisbury, and Fred Lavoie (Rachel) of Black River; sister, Florence Manderville (Late Kenneth) of Miramichi; brother, Leo Lavoie of Nelson; three grandchildren, Brooklyn, Justin, and Evan; three great-grandchildren Gracie-Rae, Grayson, and Ryleigh; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Frank Lavoie and Eric Lavoie.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. A graveside service will take place at St Thomas Roman Catholic Cemetery, in Red Bank at a date and time to be announced.
The family would like to thank the staff at Residence La Belle Vie for the excellent care provided to Fred throughout the years. A special thank you also to the staff at the Miramichi Regional Hospital for their care and compassion.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to a memorial of one's choice.
