We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Francis (Frankie) James Daley, of Barnaby River, on Thursday, August 7, 2014, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 75. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family.

Born in Barnaby River, he was the son of the late William and Annie (Hackett) Daley.

Frankie will be dearly missed by Donna (Buggie), his wife of 44 years, and three daughters: Melanie of Miramichi, Debbie (Bob) of Musquash, and Carla (Kurt) of Saint John, and two loving grandchildren, Kate and Alex. He is also survived by four sisters: Barbara Regan of Barnaby River, Margie O’Neill of Fredericton, Josephine Harrigan of Miramichi and Evelyn O’Toole of South Nelson; three brothers William (Billy) of Barnaby River, Edward (Margaret Mary) of Fredericton, and Clayton (Diane) of Truro, NS.

Besides his parents, Frankie was predeceased by sisters Marie McAuley and Lita Hayden, and brothers Raymond and Clarence.

Frankie was an incredibly hard worker his entire life. He worked in the construction industry in and around Miramichi, as well as throughout the province until 1994, when he was diagnosed with throat cancer. After a lengthy recovery, he continued to enjoy the outdoors. He loved his vegetable garden and mowing his lawn.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Northumberland Funeral Home on Sunday, August 10, 2014 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Barnaby River on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 12 pm Noon, with Father Dan Bastarache officiating.

Frankie was passionate and very involved with the Cemetery of the Most Pure Heart of Mary Church in Barnaby. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cemetery Fund in his memory, or to a charity of one’s choice.
