Fidele Joseph Goguen

Fidele Joseph Goguen Sr., of Miramichi, passed away peacefully at Percy's Place on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at the age of 92.

Born in Miramichi on September 4, 1933, he was the son of the late Edmund and Henrietta (Richard) Goguen. He worked as an operator at Repap Mill before his retirement.

He will be greatly missed by his children, Grace Belding (Frank) of Lower Newcastle, Fidele Goguen Jr. of Miramichi, Patricia Harris (Stephen) of Miramichi, Gary Goguen (Cathy) of Chatham Head, and Michael Goguen of Miramichi; three brothers, Manny of Chatham Head, Roy (Judy) of Nelson and Everett (Lillian) of Nelson; his grandchildren, Kiley Harris (Kim), Lisa Gagnon (Charlie), Amy Jardine (Matt), Matthew Goguen (Jessica), and Michelle Staples (Sean); greatgrandchildren, Grayson Harris, Landon Harris, Claire Gagnon, Jessa Jardine, Lincoln Staples, Connor Staples, and Elsie Staples; several nieces and nephews; and many members of his extended Baie-Sainte-Anne family.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Lorina (Thebeault) Goguen; his sisters, Loretta Goguen, Alma Goguen, and Mary Goguen; his brothers, Leo, Alyre, Lucien, Emile, and Anthony; and his great-granddaughter Caitlyn.

At his request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside burial will take place on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 2 pm, at St Patrick's Roman Catholic Cemetery, with Father Anthony Dass Papu officiating.
