  • Mrs. Evelyne (Young) MacIver, of Chatham, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2011, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 79.

    Born in South Esk, she was the daughter of the late Michael Joseph and Kathleen (O'Brien) Young. She worked as an assistant to a pharmacist and was also a retired registered nurse. She was a member of St Mary's Roman Catholic Church and was the coordinator for the bereavement committee as well as the Miramichi Food Bank.

    She will be sadly missed by her four daughters Debbie (Peter) of Everett, ON, Lynda of Oakville, ON, Susan of Burlington, ON, and Pam (Peter) of Truro, NS; one son Peter of Toronto, ON; two sisters Noreen Drillen (Alfred) of Derby, NS, and Kathleen Godin of Newcastle; one brother Bill (Carolyn) of South Esk; three grandchildren Michelle, David, and Sarah Louise; and several nieces and nephews.

    Besides her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers Regan, Hubert, and Michael, one sister Ann, and brother-in-law Hector Godin.

    The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home on Friday, November 4, 2011, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at 10 am, from St Mary's Roman Catholic Church, with Father Vincent Donovan officiating.

    As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Miramichi Food Bank, or to a memorial of one's choice.
