Evelyn McDermaid

Evelyn McDermaid, of Miramichi, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at the age of 83.

Born in Miramichi, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah (Vienneau) Savoy.

She will be greatly missed by her husband Richard McDermaid of Miramichi; sons Richard (Leah) of Doaktown, and James (Robin) of Fort Erie, ON; two sisters Lorraine of Miramichi and Marie of Burlington, ON; brother Wilburt Savoy of Millerton; five grandchildren Amy, Melissa, Christopher, Nadine, and Jesse; one great grandson Theo; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Geraldine, and brothers Alfred and Alvin.

At her request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. 

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to a memorial of one’s choice.
