Eva Mary Somerville, of Lower Derby, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 84.

Born in Bartibogue, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Jane (Russell) Gardiner.

She will be sadly missed by her husband James; son Sterling (Mary); two sisters Audrey (Alvin Arbeau) and Mary Taylor both of Miramichi; brother Joe Gardiner (Noreen) of Miramichi; half sister Daisy Dick (Howard) of British Columbia; three half brothers John Cortes (Shirley) of British Columbia, Frank Cortes (Clora) of Calgary, AB, and Herman Cortes of Miramichi; grandson Joshua Cortes (Katrina) of St Andrew's; great grandson Tyson Cortes; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters Elsie Storey and Maggie Gardiner.

The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home on Thursday, June 9, 2016, from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be announced at a later date.

As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or to a memorial of one's choice.
