Ellison George Russell

Ellison Russell, of Bartibog Bridge, passed away peacefully at Tabusintac Nursing Home, on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the age of 88.

Born in Barryville, NB, he was the son of the late Walter and Annie (Barry) Russell. He worked as a hoisting engineer and a foreman at Northshore Construction until he retired at the age of 70. He was an avid card player and volunteered in the community for most of his life.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Joanne (MacDonald) Russell of Bartibog Bridge; his children Thomas Russell (Jeanne) and Wanda Williams (George); sister Bernice Doucet; brother Blake Russell (Janice); sister-in-law Angela Russell; three granddaughters Sharon-Lynn (Brett), Julia and Amy, along with four great-grandchildren, Lily, Khloe, Joshua and Jaxon; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two sons, George and Wayne; three sisters Rita, Theresa, and Helena; and four brothers Lloyd, Raymond, Alvin and Robert.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation but a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

A special thanks to all our extended family, neighbours and his support workers over the past 3 years especially Quinton, Jeanie, Irene and Nardia. We would also like to thank the staff at Percy’s Place and the staff at the Tabusintac nursing home who made his day to day life the most comfortable it could be, along with Bernice and Amy for being there in his final moments.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Percy’s Place or to a memorial of one’s choice.
