It is with great sadness that the family of Ellery George Underhill, of Gray Rapids, announces his passing on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, surrounded by his loving family, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 74.

Born in Gray Rapids, he was the son of Hazel (Coughlan) Underhill and the late Roland James Underhill. He worked as a woodland supervisor with REPAP and was a member of St Agnes Anglican Church where he was very much involved.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Peggy (Walls) Underhill; daughter Stephanie Furlong (Reid) of Gray Rapids; two sisters Wanetta (Malcolm Walls) of Bathurst, NB, and Shirley McCabe (Thomas) of Renous; three grandchildren Vanessa (Matthew Sturgeon), Jessica Underhill (Ben Green), and Ellery Reid Furlong; very special great granddaughter Tori Reid Sturgeon; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his father, Ellery was predeceased by his son Ellery Franklyn.

The family will receive relatives and friends from Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Blackville, on Thursday, February 23. 2017, from 7 to 9 pm, and on Friday, February 24, 2017, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at 11 am, from Holy Trinity Anglican Church, with Father Gerry Laskey officiating and assisted by Father Dr. David Mercer and Father Robert Barry.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to St Agnes Anglican Church Building Fund, or to a memorial of one's choice.
