Cover for Elizabeth Anne (Holland) Lewis's Obituary

Elizabeth Anne (Holland) Lewis

Feb 3, 1949 — Oct 24, 2026

“Do not weep for me. Smile and laugh, for I am always with you.”

The greatest gift Elizabeth leaves this world is the love she had for her family and friends, and her strong belief in the power of prayer.

Mom always offered more than she had and gave to whoever she could. She never spoke poorly of anyone and would want everyone to be kind to one another. Mom always had the biggest, most beautiful smile and a twinkle in her blue eyes.

Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Florence and David Holland.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Allen Lewis; son, Daniel Handrahan; sister, Mary Lamb; granddaughter, Jenna Handrahan; and son in law, Darren O’Connor.

With great sadness, she leaves behind her children: Kelly Osborne (Carl), Sean Handrahan (Marlene), Erin Handrahan, Mary Dunfield (Paul), and Cory Lewis (Nancy); Brenda Oleshko (Dale), Karen McCluskey (Shawn), Allen Lewis (Shirley), and Tammy O’Connor; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth is also survived by her siblings: brothers George Holland and David Holland (Nancy), and sister Mae Murphy.

She enjoyed her many drives to see the horses and listening to the music of Elvis Presley and Charley Pride. Her 21 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren brought so much joy to her life. She always had a birthday card or Christmas gift ready for them, along with extra treats.

Our family would like to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to the staff of Kelly’s Court at Losier Hall, including the RAs, LPNs, RNs, and front desk staff, Christie and Albert, for the excellent care and compassion shown toward our mother.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Michael’s Basilica at 12:00 noon on October 31, 2026, with Father Antonio Reyes officiating. A reception will follow in the church basement and a private family burial will take place following the reception. Mom loved Christmas, in celebration of her life, please wear something bright.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice or to two causes close to Mom’s heart: the Miramichi SPCA or the Miramichi local food bank.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of Northumberland Funeral Home & Crematorium, 102 Pleasant St, telephone (506) 622-7741.
