  • Mr. Edward John Ward, of Moncton, formerly of Eel Ground, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2011, at the age of 46.

    He was the son of the late Peter and Bertha (Jacobs) Ward. He was a marine in the United States Marine Corps and served in the Persian Gulf War. As of lately, he was working with Targett's Window and Door, in Moncton.

    He is survived by seven sisters Margaret Barnaby of Eel Ground, Mary Louise (Roland Reimer) of Salisbury, Nancy (Wally MacDonald) of Hilltop Rd., Bertha Marie (Bruce Mountain) of Blackville, Patricia Ramsay of Eel Ground, Drothy Ward of Eel Ground, and Barbara Lynn Ward (Clay Williston) of Eel Ground; three brothers Andrew Ward of Eel Ground, Isaac Ward of Eel Ground, and Kim Ward of Neguac; and several nieces and nephews.

    Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters Margaret Hazel and Mary Theresa, and brothers Peter Anthony and Tom.

    The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 from 7 to 9pm, and on Wednesday, January 26, 2011, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, january 27, 2011, from St Joachim's Roman Catholic Church, in Eel Ground, at 10 am, with Father Tom Fowler officiating.

    As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis, or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
