Edith Sylvia Gallant

Edith Sylvia Gallant, of Bellefond, passed away peacefully at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the age of 73.

Born in Miramichi, she was the daughter of the late Elie and Philomene (LaTulippe) Gallant. Prior to moving into retirement years, Edith was a stay at home mom and care worker looking after the well being of many. 

She will be greatly missed by her sons, Jeffery Duplessis of Baie-Sainte-Anne and Randy Duplessis of Bellefond; two sisters, Yvonne Fitzpatrick of Nelson and Eveline Bjurstrom of Chatham; one brother, Maurice Gallant of Bellefond; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Luc, Anthony, and Hector.

In keeping with her family's wishes, there will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be held at L'Église de L'Ascension Roman Catholic Church, in Beaverbrook, on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 10 am, with Father Antonio Reyes officiating. Interment will take place in the church cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Beaverbrook cemetery fund, Miramichi SPCA, or to a memorial of one's choice.
