Doreen Keane

Doreen (Furlong) Keane, of Miramichi, passed away peacefully at Percy’s Place, on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at the age of 84.

Born in Renous, she was the daughter of the late John and Bernetta (Theriault) Furlong.  

She will be greatly missed by her sisters Margaret Walsh (James) of Miramichi, Julia Gallant (Joseph) of Fredericton, and Gladys Diotte (Pat) of Miramichi; sister-in-law Marion Furlong of Renous; her special friend Marilyn Doyle; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog Missy.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Lawrence Keane; her brothers Benny, Joe, Stanley, Leo, Louis, Clarence, Gordon, and Herman; and her sisters Stella, Renette, Elsie, and Kathleen.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will take place in St Bridget’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, in Renous, at a later date. 

The family would like to thank Extra Mural for their compassionate care; and also Dr. Gerard Losier, and all of the staff at Percy’s Place for their excellent care.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Miramichi SPCA, or to St Bridget’s Cemetery Fund.
