Donald Linwood MacTavish

Donald Linwood MacTavish of Miramichi passed away peacefully at Percy's Place on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the age of 94.

Born in Halcomb, NB, he was the son of the late Merle (Johnson) and Lyman MacTavish. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a Linesman with NB Tel and was active with the Telephone Pioneers. He loved to camp with his truck camper and enjoyed visiting with family and friends across Canada. He also loved vacationing in Florida. He spent hours at his woodlot with June cutting wood & bringing it home, they worked avidly together.

He will be greatly missed by his sisters, Catherine Hill (Carroll) of Sussex, Irma Gray (Late David) of Moncton and Carolyn Thurber (Randy) of Salisbury; brother Robert MacTavish (Late Elsie) of Moncton; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, June (Smith) MacTavish; his sister, Nancy Dunnett; and his brother, Hollis MacTavish (Late Marjorie).

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the visitation on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 4 pm to 6 pm. The funeral service will be held at Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 2 pm, with Pastor Matthew Porter officiating. Interment will take place in the Miramichi Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church or to Percy's Place.
