Diane Layton

Diane Florence (Westlake) Layton, of Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Monday, November 17, 2025, at the age of 79.

Born in Halifax, NS, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mary (Creelman) Westlake. She was a homemaker and enjoyed the outdoor life, especially camping. She also loved knitting and crocheting.

She will be greatly missed by her husband, Joseph Layton of Miramichi; daughters Rosalie LaPierre (Michael) of Lower Sackville, Wanda Davis (Danny) of Alberta, and Margaret MacInnis of Amherst, NS; son Craig Layton (Laura Nurse) of Dartmouth, NS; brother Reg Westlake; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her great-granddaughter Abby; brothers Fred, Ronnie, Dougie, and Jackie; and sisters Barbara and Sheila.

A graveside service will take place at St Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 2 pm with Father Cornelius Ngurukwem officiating.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Miramichi SPCA.
