David Maxwell Allen

David Maxwell Allen, of Miramichi, passed away at the Moncton City Hospital, on Monday, February 16, 2026, at the age of 72.

Born in Miramichi, he was the son of the late Rosemary (Taylor) and William “Bill” Allen. David worked at Castle Machine Works, and was a member of Northumberland Lodge F & AM No.17. He was very talented and enjoyed writing stories, and sketching. He was also very knowledgeable with computers and liked being innovative.

He will be greatly missed by his sons, Douglas Allen and Matthew Allen both of British Columbia; sisters, Joan Watling and Gail Thompson (Greg); brothers, Michael Allen (Elaine), Tommy Allen, and Ricky Allen; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Jackie Allen and Daryl Allen.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside burial will take place in Miramichi Cemetery at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to a memorial of one’s choice.
