  • Daryl Traer, of Miramichi, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at the age of 69.

    Born in Chatham, he was the son of Florence (Appleby) and the late Howard Traer. He worked in various positions and eventually as a Supervisor at the former REPAP for 32 years until his retirement in 2000. He was a member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church. He was previously a Volunteer Firefighter in Nelson for many years and a past member of Miramichi Ground Search and Rescue.

    He will be sadly missed by his wife Joanne; daughter Carey Traer (Dan Jones) of Calgary,AB; son Tony (Debbie) of Miramichi; brother Ronald of Halifax, NS; sister-in-law Willa Traer of Fredericton, NB; brother-in-law Lou Walsh of Miramichi; granddaughters Sarah and Regan Traer; as well as several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

    Besides his father he was pre-deceased by his sister Jo-Edna Walsh and his brother Keith Traer.

    The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Friday, May 15, 2015, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at 11 am, from Saint Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, in Nelson, with Father Jim McQuade officiating.

    As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to a memorial of one's choice.
