With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Cynthia Eva Tozer, who left this world at home and entered into the arms of her Saviour on August 3, 2024 surrounded by the love of her family. Born on June 27, 1954, Cynthia was a beacon of faith and love throughout her 70 years.
From a young age, Cynthia’s life was a testament to her deep Christian faith. At just 15, she embraced the role of wife to Terry Tozer, and together they shared 55 years of unwavering love and devotion. Cynthia’s life was a profound example of her faith, creating a legacy that shaped her children and extended to her grandchildren.
Cynthia’s greatest joy was found in her family. She leaves behind her beloved husband Terry, her children Jason (Tammy) Tozer and Jennifer (David) Gopee, and her cherished grandchildren Rashad (Melody) Gopee, Jacob Tozer, Sydney (Lucas) Price, and Halle Gopee. Cynthia recently became a great grandmother (GiGi) to sweet KJ. Her world revolved around these precious souls, and her love for them knew no bounds.
Cynthia was also a beloved sister to Gilbert (Amy) Matchett and Michael Matchett, and was preceded in death by her brother Tony Matchett. Her parents, Blair and Dorthey also preceded her in death, but their memory lived on in her strong family values.
Cynthia’s love extended far beyond her immediate family. She held her nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends dear, and the affection was mutual. Her extended family was an integral part of her life, and she cherished each one deeply.
Her home was a sanctuary of love and faith, and her influence will echo through the lives she touched. Cynthia's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the honour of knowing her. As we mourn her loss, we celebrate a life lived with grace, compassion, and unwavering faith.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 6th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at River Church. A celebration honoring Cynthia’s remarkable life will be held at River Church on Wednesday, August 7th at 2pm. In memory of Cynthia, the family invites donations to River Church Children’s Ministry and NB Extra Mural Program or a memorial of one’s choice to continue her legacy of love, selflessness, and kindness.
