Clifton Reid Peterson, of Blissfield, passed away at home peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at the age of 76.

Born in Upper Blackville, he was the son of the late Claude and Patricia (Arbeau) Peterson. He worked as a silviculturist for many years. Clifton’s passions included fly fishing, a skill he employed as a guide on the Miramichi River for decades and he spent many hours on the trails, four-wheeling with friends. It has been said that many stories, some true, were shared by this group as they spent the day together out in nature. He was a member of Our Lady of Annunciation Roman Catholic Church, Doaktown.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Louise Peterson; daughter Lisa O'Donnell (Wayne) of Doaktown; son Robert (Bobby) Peterson (Natalie) of Apollo Beach, Florida; four brothers Winslow (Coleen) of Blackville, Tony (Donelda) of Blackville, Brian (Wanda) of Doaktown, and Peter (Irene) of White Rapids; four grandchildren Neill and Mitchell O'Donnell and Alexandra and Ryan Peterson; step-grandson Brandon Parent; one great grandson Benson; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Thursday, April 7, 2022, from 12 to 1:45 pm. The funeral service will follow at 2pm, from Northumberland Funeral Home, with Father Neil Osiowy officiating. Interment will take place in Holy Name of Mary Roman Catholic Cemetery, Blissfield, at a later date.
