Burton Joseph Ward, of Eel Ground, passed away on Friday, September 21, 2012, at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, in Moncton, at the age of 50.

Burton was the son of Philomena Ward and the late Lemuel Ward. He worked as a labourer and was a devoted member of St Joachim's Roman Catholic Church, in Eel Ground.

He will be sadly missed by his mother, Philomena Ward, of Eel Ground; his four sisters Betty Pfaefflin (Ron) of Connecticut, USA, Mary Simonson, Mabel Ward, and Helen Wakelin (Craig) all of Eel Ground; his three brothers Kenneth Ward, Benedict Ward (Margaret) and Vincent Ward, all of Eel Ground; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his father Lemuel, he was predeceased by his brother Stephen.

The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Sunday, September 23, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 24, 2012, at 3 pm, from St Joachim's Roman Catholic Church, with Father Tom Fowler officiating. Interment will take place in the church cemetery.
