Borden Albert Curtis, of Gray Rapids, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the age of 81.
Born in Gray Rapids, he was the son of the late Currie and Mabel Curtis. He worked as a heavy equipment operator with North Shore Construction for over 35 years, and loved to guide and fish.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Glenna (Furlong) Curtis of Gray Rapids; his four sons, Currie (Shelley), Kelsey (Tammy), Lloyd (Andrea) all of Gray Rapids, and Jamie (Beverley) of Barnettville; two sisters, Sheila Kelly (Alvin) and Iona Coughlan (Dale) both of Gray Rapids; eight grandchildren, Brett, Bailey, Logan, Chad, Victoria, Michael, Camden, and Chloe; two great grandsons, Braxton and Bo; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Dale and Blaine.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the visitation on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm, at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Blackville. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 11 am, at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, with Father Gerry Laskey officiating. Interment will take place in St Agnes Anglican Cemetery in Gray Rapids.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to St Agnes Cemetery Fund, or to a memorial of one’s choice.
