Boneita "Bonnie" Faith (Jenkins) Martin, of Baie-Sainte-Anne, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 73.

Born in Chatham, she was the daughter of the late Ethelbert and Mary (Williston) Jenkins. She was a school teacher for 32 years, having taught in Escuminac until its closure, and retired from St Andrew's School in Chatham.

Bonnie loved to garden and lived for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was devoted to the church and admired by many for her strength. She defied the odds and continued to amaze loved ones and strangers alike. 

She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Suzanne Martin (Brent) of Miramichi and Julie O'Neill (Rory) of Bay du Vin; four sisters, Sharon Kitching (Late Wayne) of Sudbury, ON, Sandra Kitching (Roger) of Sudbury, ON, Brenda O'Neill (William) of Moncton and Gail Attwater (Michael) of Moncton; four grandchildren, Dustin (Melanie), Jonathon, Jaxon, and Haylee; great grandchildren, Waylon and Sadie; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Valeri "Lili" Martin.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 22, 2026,  at 2 pm, at Église Sainte-Anne in Baie-Sainte-Anne. Interment will take place in the church cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Percy's Place or to a memorial of one's choice.
