It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Bernice Elaine Coughlan, 91, of Bridgeview Hall, formerly of Blackville and Gray Rapids, on November 4th, 2025 at Percy's Place..
Born in Blackville, on August 25th, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Wilson and Janie (Colford) Underhill.
She will be lovingly remembered by her only daughter, Susan (Paul Sherrard) and granddaughter Lindsay Jane (Marlon Prince).
Bernice is survived by brothers Wardie (Muriel), Bill (Carol), Don (Wendy), David (Phil), John (Lisa) and sisters Betty (Reg Kimball) and Rita.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lindsay Coughlan and granddaughter Jamie Anne and brother Garth.
Bernice was a graduate of Blackville High School, Harkins Academy and then went on to serve with her sister Betty in the RCAF. After the Air Force, she settled into the role of homemaker and mother in Gray Rapids and later into the role of grandmother. She was an active member of Trinity Anglican Church and the ladies' ACW, always helping with a rummage sale or church supper.
She was known for her wonderful breads, pies, doughnuts and Christmas fruitcakes.
True to her Christian faith, Bernice always loved and accepted others exactly as they were. Along with her husband Lindsay, she lived by example and was always the first to offer a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Her acts of generosity and kindness were innumerable, and whether in Blackville, Gray Rapids or Bridgeview Hall, everyone who knew her was touched by her selflessness in one way or another.
