Barbara (Howe) Sherrard of Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home, passed away peacefully at Percy's Place on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at the age of 84.
Born in Miramichi, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy (Creamer) and William Howe. She worked at the Urban Corral for 8 and 1/2 years and enjoyed all the people she met there. She loved the band members and country music. It was the best job she ever had. After the Urban Corral, she did home care until she retired.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Wanda Maillet (Rick) of Miramichi, David Sherrard (Irma) of Miramichi, Norman Sherrard of Miramichi, Sterling Sherrard (Late Anna Leigh) of Red Deer, AB, and Todd Sherrard of Miramichi; chosen son, Johnny Morrison; two sisters, Davida McDowell of Shannex and Debbie Lavoie of Miramichi; brother, Edward Howe (Valerie); grandchildren, Brandie, Jami, Kevin, Tyler, Marlee, and Amber; great granddaughters Kenedie, Calie, and Kennedy; great grandsons Jace, Parker, and Graysen; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her special friend Charlie Dunn, sons Donald Sherrard and Allan Sherrard; daughter Joan Marie Sherrard; grandson Trent Sherrard; infant brother William; and sisters Joan Marie Howe and Kercila White.
The family would like to thank the Doctors and staff at Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home, Vondy House, and Percy’s Place for their excellent care and compassion.
A gathering will be held at Northumberland Funeral Home on May 25th, 2026 from 1 pm to 3 pm for family and friends. A funeral service will follow at 3 pm, with Rev. Wiseman officiating. Burial will take place at St Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
