  • Annie Isabel Ward, of Eel Ground, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 86.

    Born in Listiguj, Quebec, she was the daughter of the late Peter Duffy and Nellie Laroque. She was a homemaker and a member of St Joachim's Roman Catholic Church.

    Annie will be sadly missed by her daughter Anne-Marie Larry (Kevin) of Eel Ground; her three sons Leonard Sanipass (Sheryl), of Eel Ground, James Sanipass, and James P. Ward, of Eel Ground; one stepdaughter Marilyn Francis of Yarmouth, NS; one sister Nel Brown of Texas; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

    Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband James Ward, her daughter Debra Jean Ward, and several brothers and sisters.

    The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Monday, October 21, 2013, from 7 to 9 pm, and on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, from St Joachim's Roman Catholic Church, at 10 am, with Father Donovan officiating.

    As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society, Canadian Diabetes Association, or to a memorial of one's choice.
