  • Mrs. Anna Geraldine Ross, of Blackville, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at the Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home, at the age of 88.

    Anna was the daughter of the late Frank and Louise (Phelon) McMahon. She was a retired interviewer for Statistics Canada and a member of St Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church. Anna was very involved with the Catholic Women’s League and dedicated over 60 years to this organization. She was also a member of the Ladies Liberal Association, and the Board of Directors of the Credit Union.

    She will be sadly missed by her two daughters Mary Lou (Ralph Sturgeon) of Hampton, ON, and Dorothy (Ken Lavigne) of Medicine Hat, AB; four sons Frank of Blackville, NB, Brian (Marilyn) of Winnipeg, MB, Stephen of Thunder Bay, ON, and Mark (Tara) of Eastern Passage, NS; 12 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

    Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Basil; infant son Kevin; her sister Beatrice Redmond; and her brother Father Bernard McMahon.
    The family will receive relatives and friends from Father AA McKinnon Slumber Room, in Blackville, on Thursday, January 12, 2012, from 7 to 9 pm and on Friday, January 13, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 14, 2012, at 11 am, from St Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church, with Monsignor Woods officiating. Interment will take place in the church cemetery at a later date.

    As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home Foundation, Alzheimer’s Association, or to a memorial of one’s choice.
