Alphonse Malley

Joseph Alphonse Malley, born and raised in Paterson Siding along with his seven siblings, Late Mary-Ann (Late Vincent), Late Melvin (Late Cecile), Late Gerald (Late Mona), Late Alyer (Late Leona), Late Laura (Edgar), Alvida (Emelda) and Anna (Late Lionel) has left his worldly home on September 6, 2026, at the age of 89, to journey to the other side of Jordon where Doris, children and siblings are drawing pictures in the sand but when they see him coming will run joyfully to the shore holding out their hands.

Alphonse was a military man joining the reserves at 15 and the regular force at 16 and served for 38 years, his main base being Camp Bordon doing a tour in Germany where he met and married Doris; two tours in Egypt, but always returning to Camp Bordon and living in the community of Alliston, where they raised their four children, David, Alice, Mary and Johnny (all deceased).

Retiring from the Regular Force, he was called to the Reserves and retired as a Master Corporal. Back home in Beaverbrook, he worked at various jobs, the last being a school bus driver for 11 years in the Anglophone North School District all the while keeping active in various community organizations belonging still to the Peacekeepers Association, of which he was a founding member.

His passing leaves his wife Betty; grandchildren Christopher; Christina and her children Izaak, Izadora, and Izabel; Gregory (Anya) and their children Scott, Melissa, Madelyn, Alyana and Taliya; Michael (Kelly) and their children Megan and Sophia; Travis (Alicia) and their children Elliot and Catherine and daughter-in-law, Joan Malley (Late David). Although saddened by his absence, we are joyful for his meeting with those who have passed before and are waiting for him.

Visitation will take place at Northumberland Funeral Home on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 4 pm to 6 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Paroisse de L’Ascension Church, in Beaverbrook, on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 11 am, with Father Antonio Reyes officiating. Interment will take place in the church cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to a memorial of one's choice.
