Mrs. Alice Patles, wife of the late Weldon Patles, of Eel Ground, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 88.

Born in Eel Ground, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary Ann (Ward) McKay. She was a homemaker and a member of St Joachim's Roman Catholic Church.

Alice is survived by her three daughters Josie Trevors (James), Lorraine Patles and Patricia Patles, all of Eel Ground; two sons Howard McKay, of Kelly's Special Care
Home, and Freeman Patles (Donna) of Eel Ground; 22 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter Judy Patles,and four sons Clarence Patles, John McKay, Eugene Patles, and Clayton Patles.

The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home on Monday, April 23, 2012, from 7 to 9 pm and on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, from St Joachim's Roman Catholic Church, at 2 pm with Father Tom Fowler officiating.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society, or to a memorial of one's choice.
