January 1, 1949 — June 14, 2026

Agnes Anne Doyle, of Craigville, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 77.

Born in Chatham, she was the daughter of the late Frances (Hayes) and Merlin Doyle Sr. She was a retired Sergeant from the Canadian Armed Forces after having served in posts across Canada and in Europe.

Anne was a keen sportsperson in her earlier years and played on several teams during her time in the military, including softball and curling, and later on, she consistently followed her favourite teams on television. She was proud of her military career and in retirement, helped organize and actively participated in commemorative events. She volunteered with Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home taking senior citizens on outings, and also with Nelson Rural School helping children to ice skate. She could also be relied upon yearly as a designated driver to chauffeur family and friends safely to and from Irish Fest.

Anne will be greatly missed by her three brothers, Kevin Doyle (Lynn), Gerard Doyle (late Margie), and Keith Doyle, all of Miramichi; two sisters, Veronica Doyle and Donna Doyle (Donn Reid), both of Ottawa, ON; as well as nieces and nephews, Ellen, Christina, Damian (Lisa), Sharilyn (Geoff) Jared (Kiki), Deandra (Alex), Ryan (Olivia), and Laura. Ellen and her son, Pàdruig, shared a close bond with her in her later years.

Besides her parents, Anne was predeceased by her sister Marilyn, brother Merlin Jr., nephew Greg, and niece Elizabeth.
