  • Abigail Annie (Dunnett) Holmes, born June 20, 1939 in Sillikers, NB, daughter of the late John and Martha (Blackmore) Dunnett, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, April 18, 2020.

    Abigail is survived by her daughters Leanne (Aloyisus Mullin) of Trout Brook, and June (Lloyd Carter) of Cassilis; her son Robert of Halcomb; grandchildren Kyle Mullin (Lin Lin Wu) of Beijing and Morgan Mullin (Oliver Crook) of Halifax; great granddaughter Grace Mullin of Beijing; sister Marina of Losier Hall; and several nieces and nephews.

    Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Robert Lee Holmes; her sister Emma Gray; her brothers Isaac, James, Eugene, Jarvis, Edgar, Elliot and George.

    Abby was a teacher and homemaker and a member of Boom Road Pentecostal Church. She will be remembered as a kind and loving mother and grandmother whose warmth and prayers extended to family and friends; with one niece commenting that Aunt Abby was her Prayer Warrior.

    Leanne, June, and Robert wish to thank the staff of Losier Hall and Doctor Losier for the exceptional care given to their mother. Thank you all for loving her like family.

    A private service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2020, at 1 pm, from Boom Road Pentecostal Church, with Pastor Brody McLeod officiating.

    For those who wish, donations in Abby's memory can be made to the Boom Road Presbyterian Cemetery, or to a charity of one's choice.
